People say that perfection doesn’t exist, But I believe it does. Perfection simply looks different for everyone. To obtain “My Perfect” there are some things I do: I lead my life with love, Try my best, & speak the truth. I act as listener, more than I do speaker, I let everyone be my teacher. The student within me questions everything, Bringing clarity to thoughts askew. Then everything has a reason, and beauty too. When you see that beauty in someone else Be sure to make it known, and not keep your mew. Never forget the duality of “good”, and “bad,” And the necessity of the two. *With the caveat that for humans, Neither of those descriptors should be used. And with being a human Comes these questionable truths: Morality is highly debatable, This could all be a simulation, And time may not be linear, But looping through. I believe what helps cope with this questioning Is one’s quest for perfection, So I implore you to start soon. Dreams and ideas will come from all that you learn, Write them all down, and from them discern Just what perfection means to you. In discovering “My Perfect” There are things I know never to do. Like settle, hate, or be untrue. And in this chase of perfection I’ve learned it’s not a “chase” at all; That I’ve all the time in the world To realize my thrall. So when they say “Life is short” or “There’s no such thing as perfect” They could not be more wrong, For in this belief of “My Perfect” My life has become long. Sincerely, A. Song
